You are smart, motivated and driven, yet you may be overlooking the first impression people have when they are introduced to your business.
Here’s the truth: Over time, if you’re not diligent, you may find that your business has morphed into something you never envisioned.
Being a business owner, consultant, freelancer or self-employed person can be insanely overwhelming. You are the marketing person, the accountant, the sales person, the tech person, the list goes on. You put so much time and energy into your business and you really want to be successful. Part of the problem of why your business may not be thriving is that the message you are giving people is not consistent and clear.
As a life-long entrepreneur and business owner, I deeply understand the complexity of creating your brand. With Google, Yelp, LinkedIn, Bing, Websites, Pinterest, Instagram, it’s easy to have older messages on various platforms. It’s a never ending process of keeping up. Just as you thought you had it all down, you shift your focus and then your branding isn’t in alignment anymore.
If your marketing material is not matching up, it might be time for a tune-up and assessment. We’ll review your website, your marketing, your social media profiles and come up with a plan to up-level your business or work life. Having a clear vision for your business has an immense effect on all areas of your life.
One thing that I have found to be the biggest source of procrastination is perfectionism.
It’s a trait you may not realize you have, until someone points it out to you and it’s also a fast track to unhappiness.
Branding and perfectionism are very interrelated. When it comes to branding, you want it to say so much and many people put off trying, as they may not get it perfect. The only way to improve is to dive in and begin the process.
The best chance for success is to tap into and honor your core values. If you want your marketing material to all sing together like a lovely chorus, you have to have a clear vision.
Clearing out the old…I’ve always been a minimalist, and I really enjoy going through my belongings and clearing out. My daughter, who was 15 at the time, told me I had to listen to an audiobook called “Spark Joy”. This inspired me to simplify even more. While I’m not going to talk in this blog about that tremendous joy that arises from giving things away, following Marie Condo’s suggestions started me a trajectory letting go. Starting with objects and then moving onto beliefs that no longer served me or values that had shifted over time.
Practicing getting rid of belongings, helps bring into your life and business that which is aligned with your higher good, and your heart.
Core values are the fundamental beliefs you about yourself and your business. They help you determine if you are on the right path to fulfilling your goals by creating an unwavering guide to follow.
When you know your core values, you are able to integrate them into you branding and messaging to attract the clients and business. Let go of perfectionism, self-doubt and F.E.A.R (False Evidence Appearing Real).
Having marketing material that is in alignment with your business vision is essential. I call this a game changer.
